Changes in the Morgantown Cafe Scene

Brooklyn Trends

Spring is close.

I went to Brooklyn Fire Proof East after a while of being absent, and good news – they’re going to start brunch again! Finally, a place in Bushwick to satisfy those Sunday morning head-reelings (or my personal favorite kind of hangover, the back of the brain numbness and body pains that are alleviated when you take a quenching draught of water, or a bite of a veggie omellette – the kind of satisfaction that makes you go “Ahhh,” and which is hard to achieve without the influence of alcohol or sex.

Anyway, this new brunch, yes, it begins Saturday and is $10 for a coffee, alcoholic beverage, and dish of food, or possibly petit dejuneur. While you’re there you can catch up on the music scene, which if is related to your interests can be satisfied in no better place.

In other news, Cafe Orwell just got their liquor license, so if you want a PBR in the middle of the day, this is the place to go. And the stupidly named Swallow Cafe, remains the best in Morgantown because the bartenders serve the most consistent espresso. This is where my crew and I discuss the absurdity of there being just one word in the English language for love, as well as other literarily interesting ideas. Do join us.
