Wyckoff, home to the Jefferson stop, is finally going to offer a rival to Morgantown. The super-cool building above will soon be home to the Wyckoff Exchange, likely sometime this spring. There will be a wine shop, an organic foods store and a bar/venue/radio station to be called Radio Bushwick. That’s pretty cool.
Andre Kikosi Architects, based in the city, has given LED lights to this corten-steel facade to allow for a constantly changing intricate patterning. The steel grating becomes awning when the stores are open and reverts back to a much-preferred form of protection for the storefronts. Talk about sustainable.
This makes me really excited. The changes Bushwick will see over this next year will likely make property values rise. If this is the case, maybe I should move deeper into Bushwick. With the Wyckoff Exchange in place, I won’t need to go to Swallow; I can just go to the Starr! Whoa, don’t get ahead of yourself. This is all speculation. I’ll probably be able to live where I do at least until those condos on Bogart are built in another couple of years. And by then, who knows, Halsey will likely have an organic foods store.
