Does everyone realize just how awesome it is to be single this weekend? All the lonely hearts waiting to be taken home? It officially starts tonight, when everyone starts getting the pre-Valentine’s jitters and thinks, oh boy, I really want someone to wake up next to on Valentine’s Day/go out with that night and wake up the next morning with too. That leaves a lot of time for preparation.
Tonight, you’ll probably want to hit the Chelsea galleries. Everyone will be out as they look for those cultured enough to share art opinions with, and hopefully more.
Tomorrow: wait till tomorrow.
Saturday: Okay, so I’ve been epping on Tandem lately, and it’s not just because I live 5 minutes away. This place seems like an ordinary Brooklyn bar, until about midnight, when the dance floor gets cracking and it becomes the Lit Lounge Bushwick, except you don’t have to pay $6 for a Stella. Basically: it has usurped Union Pool for best singles bar in Brooklyn.
If you fail Saturday, you can try the many brunch options available around the city, but chances are people are still recovering from the night before. Best to do the same and gear up for a speed flirting type variety game. And from what I understand, the Bodega, on the corner of Troutman and St. Nicholas, just a couple of blocks away from old Tandem is the place. From 5-8, this wine bar will attract Bushwick’s sexiest, including yours truly. Good luck, my friends!
